Getting started with the identd provided by OpenBSD base is very simple.

The one caveat is you can't spoof ident replies for bouncers like [[openbsd:irc:znc|znc]]. For that, you will want to follow the instructions for [[openbsd:irc:oidentd|oidentd]].
